Bryan Ramos

Bryan Ramos was officially placed on the 7-day IL after not playing at all during the opening weekend with a groin issue.

Norge Vera & Matthew Thompson

Norge Vera and Matthew Thompson underwhelmed significantly, as both walked the yard and were unable to make it out of the first inning.

José Rodriguez

The first full week wasn’t kind to José Rodriguez, as he couldn’t seem to get into a rhythm at the plate, as evidenced by uncharacteristically striking out five times in 21 at bats.

Peyton Pallette

Peyton Pallette made quick work of the Shorebirds in the first two innings before Delmarva was able to make some hard contact and knock out two home runs against the righty.

Cristian Mena

In terms of length, it was a short outing for Mena (3 IP), but he was dominant early, striking out five of six before trouble onset in the third in the form of two walks, two hits, a wild pitch, and two runs.

Jonathan Cannon

Jonathan Cannon was solid in his debut for the Dash, pounding the zone and getting eight groundouts (to one flyout) in his five innings of work.

Best of the Rest

Zach Remillard

Zach Remillard was on fire last week, batting .389/.522/1.000 for a 1.522 OPS with six runs scored, two doubles, three home runs, six RBI, and a stolen base.

Davis Martin

Davis Martin was outstanding in his lone start of the week, throwing six innings of three hit ball, allowing no runs while walking three and striking out 11 Jumbo Shrimp.

Alejandro Mateo

Once again, Alejandro Mateo stood out as a bright spot for the Birmingham pitching staff. Across three appearances last week, Mateo threw 3.1 innings and allowed only one hit and walk, no runs, and struck out six Trash Pandas.

Ben Norman and Terrell Tatum

Ben Norman and Terrell Tatum were key factors in powering the Dash lineup last week. Norman hit .333/.529/.917 for a 1.446 OPS with two home runs and 4 RBI while Tatum slashed .357/.591/.786 for a 1.377 OPS, hitting one home run with five RBI and going 5-for-6 on stolen bases.

Loidel Chapelli

Loidel Chapelli has made a powerful first impression upon the South Atlantic League. Chapelli batted .533/.533/1.133 last week for a cool 1.666 OPS with five runs scored, a double, triple, two home runs, eight RBI and a stolen base before leaving Friday’s game early with an apparent hand injury.

Brooks Gosswein and Jeremiah Burke

Brooks Gosswein had a fantastic start for the Dash while Jeremiah Burke was stellar in a relief appearance. Gosswein threw five innings of two hit ball, allowing one run and striking out seven Cyclones, while Burke threw 3.1 innings allowing one hit and one walk, no runs, and struck out six.

Drew McDaniel

Drew McDaniel had a very nice start against Delmarva, completing five innings of work while allowing four hits and one run, striking out six Shorebirds.

Jordan Sprinkle

Jordan Sprinkle swung a hot bat for the Ballers last week, slashing .391/.440/.609 for a 1.049 OPS with three runs scored, three doubles, one triple, seven RBI, and went 2-for-2 on stolen bases.

  1. Davis Martin had 17 whiffs, at least 1 whiff on all 4 of his pitches. Averaged 94.8 mph and touched 97.
Jesse Scholtens had 18 whiffs and also had at least 1 whiff on all 4 pitches. Batters made contact on only 62% of in-zone pitches that they swung at.

  2. Tough time for the top ten. 4 are on the IL, 2 SP couldn’t get through 1 inning, and the second best MI prospect is hitting .143. At this rate, Chapelli will be cracking the top 10 by May.
