FutureSox Podcast: Draft Preview w/ Joe Doyle of Future Stars Series

On a special edition of the FutureSox Podcast Ian Eskridge and James Fox welcome a fountain of draft knowledge in the form of Joe Doyle of FutureStarsSeries.com. He was gracious enough to give us an hour plus. There is a lot of information packed into a short time.

The opening topics include: Draft strengths and weaknesses by category, what kind of impact you will see in the Top 100 lists from the drafted players, and the helium players that have raised their stock in the back half of the prep and college season.

They move into what the Guardians are doing, and the process of “cutting a deal” and why it plays such a huge part in the MLB draft. They move on to what the White Sox can expect to have available at number 5, and what they should do. There is some talk of what will be the strategy of the White Sox in the next couple rounds.

They close with what George Wolkow’s draft expectations could have been if he had not reclassified, and the FutureSox Podcast goes to task on finding a deal for Joe’s Mariners with White Sox players.
