White Sox Minor League Recap 7/24/2015: Barons win in extras

Gwinnett 6, Charlotte 3
The Knights fell to the Braves following a Junior Guerra meltdown in the eighth. Kyle Drabek got the start and went six innings of three run ball, only two earned. Guerra pitched a scoreless seventh before allowing three runs in the eighth.
Micah Johnson, Jason Coats and Matt Tuiasosopo each went 2-4. Tuiasosopo had two home runs and all three RBIs for the Knights offense. Johnson was caught stealing, but is currently hitting .331.
Birmingham 8, Jacksonville 7
The Barons won this game in the 11th inning and scored eight runs on four hits. Joey DeMichele, Keenyn Walker (HR) and Danny Hayes each had two RBIs, Adrian Nieto had a sacrifice, and Christian Marrero recorded the last RBI. DeMichele had the game winning bloop single in the 11th.
Robinson Leyer went 4.1 innings and gave up six runs, three earned, while Raul Fernandez, Tlyer Barnette and Zach Isler combined to give up only one run the rest of the game.
Winston-Salem 7, Carolina 2
Brandon Brennan got the start for the Dash and only allowed two runs, one earned, over five innings while striking out seven batters. Michael Ynoa and Eculides Leyer had identical lines – two innings pitched, one hit and two strikeouts.
Eddy Alvarez, recently promoted to the Dash, was hot and went 3-5 with two runs scored and his first stolen base in A+ ball. Jake Peter, moved to left field to accommodate Alvarez, went 1-4 with a walk, double and RBI. Trey Michalczewski and Cleuluis Rondon, now at second, each had two hits. Keon Barnum had one of his occasional big days and went 4-5 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Greensboro 7, Kannapolis 6
Zach Thompson and Connor Walsh gave up a combined seven runs in seven innings and the Intimidators offense couldn’t overcome the deficit.
Alexander Simon was 2-5 with a homer and two RBIs while Hunter Jones went 2-5 with two singles. Every Kannapolis starter had a hit aside from Ryan Leonards, who still recorded an RBI.
Missoula 10, Great Falls 4
Missoula put up seven runs in the fourth inning to bury the Voyagers, with five runs given up by Matt Ball, who had eight walks in 3.2 innings. Drew Hasler gave up four runs in only 0.1 innings of work. Landon Lassiter went 2-3 from the leadoff spot.
Missoula 6, Great Falls 3

In game two of the double header, Lassiter and Antonio Rodriguez each homered while Rodriguez and Grant Massey each went 2-3. Danny Dopico got the loss, give up four runs, two earned, in one inning of work.
AZL Rangers 4, AZL White Sox 2
Daniel Mendick went 1-3 with a two run homer in the loss. Christopher Comito went six innings and gave up three runs, two earned, while striking out three. Jordan Stephens struck out one in a scoreless inning of work and Ryan Powers struck out two.
DSL Reds 6, DSL White Sox 4
Nelson Hernandez went 3-4 with a triple and two RBIs in the DSL loss.
