White Sox Minor League Recap 8/29/2015: Trexler strikes out nine in relief

Charlotte 9, Durham 3
Scott Carroll got the quality start and only allowed two hits and one run in six innings to go along with five strikeouts. Onelki Garcia and J.B. Wendelken each gave up an earned run in their three innings of combined work.
Dayan Viciedo provided all the offense the Knights needed – Viciedo went 2-5 with four RBIs. Leury Garcia went 3-5 with a triple and three RBIs and is hitting .299 this year at Charlotte. Micah Johnson went 1-4 with a double and an RBI and Jason Coats had the last RBI after going 1-5 with a double.
Chattanooga 5, Birmingham 2
Matt Heidenreich dazzled in his start – striking out seven in six innings of work while only allowing one run – but his offense didn’t show up behind him and Robinson Leyer gave up three runs in two innings of relief. Peter Tago pitched a scoreless ninth.
Tim Anderson was 2-3 with his 48th stolen bag of the year. Tony Thomas was 0-1 with three walks and Brian Fletcher was 2-4.
Winston-Salem 4, Frederick 0
Brandon Brennan allowed no hits in his four innings of work to start the game. He only struck out one batter and did allow three walks. Brian Clark pitched the remainder of the game and only gave up three hits in his five innings of work.
Adam Engel led the Dash to victory, going 3-4 with his seventh home run, two runs scored, two RBIs and his 64th stolen base. Jake Peter was 2-4 with a double and an RBI.
Kannapolis 9, Hagerstown 4
Kelvis Valerio went five innings en route to a win and allowed four earned runs. David Trexler got the save after pitching four scoreless, one-hit, no-walk innings that saw Trexler strikeout nine opposing batters, including Dan Uggla.
Toby Thomas went 2-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, Mason Robbins was 1-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Daniel Gonzalez was 1-3 with two RBIs after he was demoted from Winston-Salem. Louie Lechich rounded out the offense by going 2-5 with a double and an RBI.
Great Falls 11, Missoula 4
Luke Shearrow went 5.1 innings and struck out five Osprey batters on his way to victory. Alex Katz lowered his ERA to 1.86 with 1.2 innings of work where he struck out two.
Dante Flores and Johan Cruz each went 3-5 on the night. Flores had a triple, home run and four RBIs while Cruz had a home run and three RBIs. Casey Schroeder was 2-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Frank Califano was 2-5 with an RBI of his own. Landon Lassiter went 2-4 and was the only Voyager to not strikeout in the game.
