So, the Barons didn’t suck so bad this week. I’m not going to gush about splitting a series with Mississippi, but it’s better than my previous prediction. The week didn’t start out so well, losing the first three games and looking bad doing it. Throw in a rainout on Tuesday, and things looked bleak yet
Rookie ball is gearing up and the second half of the minor league season is underway. The Winston-Salem Dash were the only first half division winners for the White Sox. There still have been a few strong performers in what has been an otherwise disappointing minor league season in the Sox organization. Let’s see who

The Barons suck. There, I said it. I’ve been beating around that bush all season long. They’re on pace to win 48 games. 48 games. That is out of 140 for the entire season. That is the reverse of their win/loss total from 2009. If they’re not careful, they could end up losing 100 games.
The short season leagues kicked off this week, and while there wasn’t enough time for any rookie ball hitters to make their mark on the Hot and Cold list, there was enough time for a starter or two.
