The affiliates split their matchups in a series of close matchups. Marcus Semien and Charlie Leesman led Charlotte to victory despite a late surge from Rochester. Kannapolis brought down Asheville behind the offense of Hunter Jones (2HR) and Trey Michalczewski with Robinson Leyer adding a nice start of his own Rochester 6, Charlotte 7 Marcus

The Sox affiliates were swept during Monday’s action. The Knights dropped a doubleheader to Rochester despite two homers from Jordan Danks, and homers from Matt Davidson, Josh Phegley, and Carlos Sanchez. The Knights fell in a close game to the Toledo Mudhens despite striking out sixteen batters and only allowing three hits. The Barons dropped an extra inning affair, while the Dash were tied going into the 10th when play was suspended. The Dash will finish their game tomorrow prior to their regularly scheduled game. In a day packed with offense one way or another, Charlotte and Birmingham prevailed while Winston-Salem fell by the wayside. The Knights pounded five home runs and the Barons worked in a gaggle of their own behind Rangel Ravelo, Kevan Smith and Christian Marrero. Kannapolis was rained out and will play a double header tomorrow.
